As the ever so British Bridget Jones brings her fourth movie to the big screen it smashes into the top of the UK box office at number 1 with a gross of £12 Million.
This opening gross has also made it the highest debut for a movie in the Bridget Jones series which now consists of 4 movies.
All the movies have starred Renee Zellweger and although this promises to be the last one with these box office figures this series could continue.
As the Marvel Cinematic Universe starts to show a decrease in returns the new movie in the series Captain America: Brave New World makes its UK debut at number 2 this weekend.
With a debut gross of £6.4 Million it is one of the lowest grossing in the MCU and Disney will be looking at Thunderbolts* later this year to pick up the long running series.
